Yardage

I can help you figure out how many yards of fabric you will need if you contact me. I hope to add a chart here to my website in the near future. Until then, here are some tips and suggestions to help you get an estimate: 

• Dimensions of Your Item – width, length, depth, thickness, angle measurements (as in a trapezoid cushion shape), diameter (as for a bolster), flange size you want (for a flange pillow)
• Fabric Pattern or Repeat –all fabrics typically will have patterns that will repeat after a certain point. A repeat refers to the length of the pattern before it repeats itself again. Normally, a repeat will come in increments of 3 inches. Repeats can be as large as 27". The larger the repeat, the more extra yardage will be required for your project, if you want centering or matching in the front of your cushion or the sides of your pillows for example. Repeats less than 3" will not require extra fabric and matching can still be accomplished.
• Number of Items Needed –this is obviously going to make a difference.
• Ties, Tabs, Piping – Sometimes You Want Piping in a Contrasting Color or from a Different Fabric
• Width of the Bolt – Usually Decorator Fabric Comes in 54” Width. Lighter Weight Fabric is Usually 44/45” Width. It is a Clue that May Help You Determine Which Fabric to Use for Your Project but Not the Only Factor to Consider. It is Information that is Valuable for Me to Determine How Much of the Fabric You Will Need
• Sheeting – You Can Make Pillows From Bed Sheets too. I Would Need to Know What Size You Have to Help Plan Your Project
